I felt I needed to share this post to give people an insight as to what goes down behind the scenes in athletics. Not only do we face challenges from drug cheats, we are challenged by gender issues in women’s events, ‘grey area’ manipulation of therapeutic use exemption of drugs, corruption within the IAAF, systematic drug taking within various countries & lack of financial backing or support. But to rub it in – our own federation chooses to degrade our performances by not selecting ‘clean’ ‘qualified’ GB athletes to represent our nation as in their opinion those athletes are not deemed good enough. Maybe they would be good enough if they weren’t facing all of the other challenges listed above! Things need to change around here!
