The World Animal Health Organisation (OIE) and the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) joined forces to bring together government representatives, veterinary and horse sport experts from 23 countries in Panama City 11-13 December to a summit on the International Movement of Horses. The experts convened to find solutions to the current import and export procedures imposed on the FEI "high-health, high-performance" horses, which are restricting the growth of equestrian sport in the region, particularly in view of the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games of Rio.
