The British Synchro Team take time out from their dance class at Pineapple Studios to show their support for SwimBritain
In April 2013, some of the biggest names in world diving including the likes of Tom Daley & Nick Robinson-Baker competed in Edinburgh for the third leg of the FINA/Midea Diving World Series 2013. At the event, we caught up with the divers and got their thoughts on their training and performances in the lead up to the World Championships. They also shared their support for British Gas SwimBritain, a campaign to create a healthier nation, and get more people swimming more regularly by 2015.
On Tuesday 16 April, 2013, British Gas Swimming took the GB Synchronised Swimming Team to Pineapple Studios for a dance class. Here are the girls dancing to Beyonce’s ‘Who runs the world, girls’ – a routine they learnt in just 90 minutes. Impressive stuff.
The 1st FINA Gold Medal Swimming Coaches Clinic concluded successfully with more than 400 swimming coaches from a hundred nations, on October 30, 2012 in Moscow, Russia. The golden opportunity offered for two days to exchange ideas, experience and knowledge with top-level coaches from swimming powerhouses like USA, Australia or China was praised by many participants. In all, 11 leading figures in the world of swimming, representing six different countries — all of whom helped steer an athlete to gold medal success at the London 2012 Olympic Games — provided a comprehensive overview of coaching practices and shared valuable expertise with delegates interested in developing elite swimming athletes in their own country.
