Belgium and Ireland contested the first Quarter Final of the Men’s Rabobank Hockey World League. As expected Belgium ran out 6-3 victors in a highly entertaining match. Belgium took lead nine minutes into the game after Loick Luypaert placed a drag flick into the goal from a short corner One minute later Thomas Briels doubled the lead for Belgium when he lifted the ball over David Harte following a great run into the D from Simon Gougnard.
The Netherlands booked their place in the Semi Finals of the Women’s Hockey World League with a commanding 8-1 victory over India. The Dutch opened the scoring after twenty one minutes; a back pass from India was intercepted, Kitty Van Male at full stretch to get a cross in and Kim Lammers with the finish. Maartje Paumen made it 2-0 three minutes before half time
